I have an alloy sump of the 2.1TD engine and wanted to use it on my block, but it doesn't fit over the oilpump. I thought the 2.1TD and the TCT used the same oilpump, but that obviously isn't the case. As I didn't want to clean a metal sump, I decided to put the head on. My 1mm skimmed head. Lot's of assembly lube to bed the DKZ camshaft in. I only put the belt on, so I can rotate the engine. I would like to dial the DKZ cam in per exact specs, but unfortunately I haven't come across them...

Crap, after 280.000+km cilinder three only has 5 bars of compression. After searching for a temporary ZX and finding nothing to my liking, I have opted to buy something a bit more comfortable:

Unfortunately not. It had to be something that has low ownerships cost and runs as economical as possible.

Theres certainly lots of love going into that engine , very comfy car the Bx , is it a diesel one by any chance . I've had a few Bx16v's , a quick car but they can't touch the Zx16v for handling Mark

No, it's a 1.4i Deauville. It has a steering wheel, brakes and that's it :)

Finally the temperatures are getting higher, so time to tinker with 16V. Only managed to get the bonnet off, as I had to reorganize the garage, but now there is at least space to get the engine out.

Today I removed the head. The lack of compression at cilinder three had no other reason than simpy wear as can be expected with an 280.000km + engine. With the head off I could then fit a dummy head and trial fit my turbo setup... It looks pretty bulky, but if it fitted in a 205 it should surely fit in an ZX right? Let's take a closer look: Fuck It isn't even close to fitting. How the hell can a 205 have more drivebay room than a significant larger ZX

Well if a 3.0 V6 fits , you would think the 2.0 8v Tct would be no problem .

205 is certainly not bigger, but it is a different shape.

I don't know what I want to do with the ZX 16V, either build my own turbo manifold and continue the turbo build or just put an RFS in it and drive it around. I was a bit tired of the BX, too long, too slow, too big of a turning circle, no powersteering so I bought a Saxo 1.6 8V VTR. For the MOT I needed to replace the steeringhouse gaitor, easy fix and I needed to fix the cat/mid muffler connection. Since the flange was pretty much gone, I just welded the two pieces together. Still leaking off course, I did not notice the downpip flange was pretty fucked too :annoyed: Bought myself a Raceland 4-2-1 manifold for less than a new downpipe would cost me and I will have the added bonus that the engine will look as if it has more hp!
