hello folks! I am a proudly owner of a Citroen ZX 2.0 16V "Dakar" model. Maybe only in Brazil exist this version, in other countries the name changes, I guess. The car have the XU10J4RS engine, in Brazil the other car which uses this engine is the Xsara VTS N6 model and some rare Peugeot 306 GTi-6 cars. Pix here:

I bought the car in May of this year, and have made some fix like the some parts of suspension, changed the head gasket, and made a simple revision of the car. The old owner lost the wheel arches and it´s very difficult to find in Brazil, the cost is very expensive.

It´s very difficult to find some related infos of this car, I hope find some interesting info here

hi, thanks Joske! the engine is not too exclusive, it´s a XU10J4RS that it found in Xsara VTS N6 model and Peugeot 306 GTi-6. The more attractive is the 168 bhp @ 6500rpm power output. and is totally stock, I am searching for infos to enhance the performance without turbocharging the engine...

humm, a question: what is the model in your coutries that is equal to my car? I saw in another topic a Citroen ZX GTi that is equal to mey "Dakar"...

We have two types of 16V's. The first one is 150-155Hp XU10J4RFY with 150-155Hp which was sold between 1992 and 1995. There is also a newer type with the same XU10J4RS engine that you have, that was sold from '96 untill '98. Those are quite rare, there are far more tyoe 1's in Holland.

here in Brazil we have two types of Citroen ZX 2.0 16V: one called "Coupe" which uses the XU10J4D/Z engine with 155hp. And the "Dakar" with the XU10J4RS. The Coupe was sold from 1992 to 1998 (to confirm) and the Dakar only have 1996 and 1997 models.

it's rare to see ZX Dakar in Brazil, in some states there are only one car! it's more common to see other ZX's, like Furio and Volcane models...

we, owners of Citroen ZX 2.0 16V, are the lucky ones

Citroën ZX does not be afraid with curves, only the owners do.

Only to update, yesterday I have made a dyno run in Dynojet dynamometer. It showed up 140.9whp of power and 170.3Nm of torque, only mods are 2.25 noisy exhaust without catalytic converter:

My friend run his Alfa Romeo 145 QV and made 129.7whp and 178.9Nm, full 2.00 inches exhaust with only a final muffler.
