Hey all, Finally got round to joining this forum. This is my ZX 16v which ive had for about a year. It has had the full leather fitted. My brother got me into these he had a white one years ago. I've come from the a 205 background and have an Mi16 which I converted back in 2002. I've had to do a fair amount of work on this. The heater matrix a couple of months back was a horrible job. Just recently I've done the head gasket but still having problems with water not circulating until it get really hot. Picture of the dash removed to do the heater matrix. It was steaming out the vents for weeks before I got around to doing it. |

Welcome! Is the thermostat working properly? Have changed the heater matrix couple of times. It's a big job indeeed. The rear sits really low while the front looks original height? |

The boot is full of tools. But even when emptied the back does seem to sit lower than expected. That was my next job, to change the thermostat. I'm also hoping the new radiator I fitted 3 months ago hasn't been damaged by the -10Âșc we had. That morning was when the head gasket finally had enough. When I had it running yesterday after changing the head gasket, the radiator was steaming a lot, i'm hoping it was because is was wet from being outside and nothing else. Those two little pipes on the bottom are a pain in the arse. |

Yes, those two pipes are really annoying stupid "quick" release system! Radiator should have no problems with -10 steaming radiator when it is cold outside is quite normal. |

Thanks Yes keeping it original for now. I have never been one for outside modifications just for looks, I prefer under the bonnet mods. My 205 Mi16 is very standard looking, but when I have more time i'm looking to supercharge that. For this ZX i'm not sure what to do, maybe install the later engine? In the UK i have recently found out that if I install an older engine (pre 1993, eg, pre CAT) then the car doesn't have to meet the 0.3% but the older 3.5% for the MOT so this could open the possibility of the earlier 1.9 Mi16 too, without the silly ACAV and without a CAT. Anyway all just talk for now. |

I take it there aren't many UK members then. Were there only ever 900 or so ZX 16v's registered here from new? Can't be many left at all now. |

I think there are quite a lot of UK owners here, I also think the English are car-crazy, some of the weirdest creations are from the UK |
