Finally my car is back on the road (an extra 16v added to the already dwindling UK umbers!) Mot is today. One bit I desperately need a Ph1 A.C. dip stick (am I correct in saying its 4.3 litres of oil?) Also I need a throttle cable metal retaining clip (near TB) spot the 16v! yes it needs a clean, but at least it works. more info when I have time. Fogot to add the cooling fans run all the time (unplugged now).... (a.c. model)

well the zx sort of made the 350miles trip to cornwall, but!
30 miles down the m5 pulled into the services, pressed onto the clutch and foot went straight to floor! limped it into services and also lost all gears!
Found out gear linkages had popped off (worn) and the clutch arm pin had dropped out, so after removing battery, ecu, Tb etc bodged a punch in and limped it back onto the Mway where it promptly dropped out again. managed to get 200 miles down the M5 and A30 (had a very scary moment where there was a accident with stop start traffic and battery was getting low! so ended up feeling a right twat and overtaking everyone!)
Met a mate about 20 miles from destination with a replacment pin (7mm) but after 30 mins in the dark couldn't get it in so for now its got a 6.5mm drill bit.
A very stressful xmas eve journey!

I am always fighting to get the damned pin out when changing the clutch. Falling out on his own also is not something you want to happen.

Thinking of fitting a 6 speed gear box to it (from a gti6)
Am I correct in saying I only need, reverse cable, gear selector and a steering ram?

Would the six speed box be more for the commute on the motorway James ? I have read that with a six speeder the lock is terrible , must admit though the Zx does become tiring on the motorway Mark
