 Post subject: alarm....

Hi all,

is it easy to unconect the fabric alarm of the ZX 16V?
and what do i have to do, so i keep the central doorlock system?

Easy :D
Just pull the plug off the syren under the bonnet, if it starts to make noise just wait, it will end by itself ;)

so if i full the plug, the alarm is disconected, or only the siren? ? and i still can use the door lock system?

Only the syren, sidelights will still flash I think if someone activates the alarm. Central locking will work, if you remove the alarm central unit, locking will still work but without flashing lights when you lock/unlock the car.

My 16V's(3x) all had a switch/lock under the bonnet near the siren. You can switch the siren of with this lock. Central locking will still be working and you will still have the flashing indicator lights when using central locking.

Tha car battery was slowly at the end of its life, so with the replacement of teh battery all my pelectrical problems are solved....;)
(That is 1 of the problems i had to solve to start using the 16V again after a easy periode of about 2 years)
