hi, i have a few problems on my 1.9 diesel zx, and i have had no luck finding a specific forum for my car, so i was told that you guys/gals might be able to help me here.

firstly, i have a really wet passenger footwell :( someone did mention it could be heater matrix, and im going to check my coolant levels and keep an eye on it for couple of days to see if it might be that, and i did wander if it could be the sunroof water run off point maybe rusted out or something near the arch, but im just wandering if there's anything else it could be?

secondly, my heaters all work great, yet my windscreen doesnt de-mist when i have hot air blowing on it, only sort of de-mists if i have cold air blowing on it.

thirdly, my brother in law has been searching for a manual sunroof catch as his is broken, but only been able to find a different style of catch, and was just wandering if all the sunroof catches are the same size because he was just going to change them over if they are.

any shed of light on any of these matters would be a great help.

cheers

If you use the heater and it looks like the picture above than it will most likely be the heater matrix.

It's a lot of work...you'll need to remove the complete facia panel.

If you keep driving with a bas heater matrix, you'll risk a blown headgasket!

just been been told that it should only cost £85ish plus VAT by one garage, now to ring a few more as i know its definately gone now as there is a sweet caramel smell when i put the heaters on full on hot.

yup deffo the matrix then.

I've done one on a 306 before, took bloody ages, including a trip up the breakers.
If yours is a straight diesel, it shouldn't be too bad - with no intercooler you'll have better access to the pipework under the bonnet.
