This is my 7th 16V. I have had three green ones(ERY) and three red ones (EJX) and finally I have a black one!
Bought the car with a blown head gasket and some other issues. This was supposed to be my daily while I have my tct to mess about with.
The tct has some damage and the engine was quite worn, so that one is waiting until I have time(and money) for it. The problem is that I got used having anywhere between 260 en 300Nm of torque with the tct, the still orginal 16V block is not slow but it is just not quick enough so I will mess a bit with it to try to make it a bit faster.

This 16V is the succesor of :

Looks not to bad eh? Well wait until you see this:

Nothing more than a piece of rotten junk!
Completely orginal:

The headgasket was blown so it would need replacement, luckily I had another engine lying around. Gave it a big service:
-conrod bearings
-belt + waterpump etc
-every(outer) seal renewed
-clutch

The car is now decated and fitted with a unkown muffler. Coming mod will be battery in the boot.

The black 16v looks nice , the green one was rotten , it's weird that some Zx's don't seem to rust but when you do get a rusty one it is really bad , mine has hardly got a spot on it but in the spring she will be going up on a ramp and getting the underside cleaned up nicely , keep up the good work , Mark

Front has been lowered with H&R -35mm springs, It looks like it has dropped -2,5cm the rear also dropped 2,5cm. Car is sitting pretty much spot on its ideal height. Next weekend I will be getting myself a pair off 23mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, so even more ride improvements on its way.

Well I wanted to save myself 150 euro and did not change the headgasket(250.000km engine) during the engine swap. A gamble that has bitten me in the ass, as the headgasket has gone

The car has had some updates.
Battery has been moved to the boot and it has the Xsara VTS 283mm brake setup. It really is a big improvement over the original 266mm system
Monroe dampers are crap, so replaced them with Koni Yellow all round.
After lowering the wishbone bushes went within 2500km.

I have seen these roller bearings a few time and decided to give them a try...

They really make a big difference! The rear of the car isn't half as good as the front. Hopefully the 23mm torsion bars will bring more balance to the car. If only it wasn't such a big hassle to switch the bars

The car had been in storage for about six months, but with the summer coming I wanted to take preparations for an engine swap.
I gave the car a new MOT, only needed to fix the horn. It passed the emission test without the catalytic convertor cheesygrin
Gave it a quick wash and it looks ok, hate the alloys but they are round so they will be the same for some time. It's the engine parts I want to mess with.
Image

Since I gave up on an alloy turbo build and did not have enough funds for pistons etc, I decided to buy an XM with the RGX engine. Which is partly stripped already.

Really looking forward to how this conversion goes, as for the front wishbone bushes how often do the P bushes require lube?

Ta Steve.

I don't know

I think I have driven about 1000~2000km with the bushes and didn't need filling up. I probably will grease up every 3 months or so, it's only a 15min job anyway.
